As a child in the 70’s, I was fortunate to be able to spend time at my uncle bill’s garden center, and attend Sunday brunch with my large family. We were so proud of Bill. My mother Barbara ran the gift shop, her sisters, Mary and Joan ran the candy and candle shops. The nativity scene with live animals, the incredible Holly House and Partridge Berry were decorated beautifully with fresh greenery, the smell of balsam incense, and tastefully lit. The blacksmith shop, schoolhouse added to it all to seem like a Sturbridge Village to me. The whole experience was magical to me as a kid. Uncle Bill was so far ahead of the times, has impeccable taste, and I consider myself very fortunate to have been able to enjoy what was probably one of the most unique, if not the most unique destinations the area was ever fortunate enough to have.

I would agree, very much ahead of his time and the attention to detail was impeccable. Thanks for sharing your memories!
